Sabres contine to act clueless. Now that the LaFontaine and Nolan euphoria has run its course let's look at what has happened (or not happened) in the month since we were extatic that Regier and Rolston were fired.
We still have no GM yet we allowed a young player like Corey Tropp to leave for nothing. We pick up a marginal guy like D'Agostino. Our "interim coach" can't keep his mouth shut. Here is a guy who was labeled a GM killer back in the 90's who just can't learn. Why he would come out and say that the team should build around Ryan Miller rather than trade him astounds me. He is the interim coach not the GM. He has no business expressing that opinion publicly. How do you think a prospective GM feels who hears that this "chosen one" has decided who the GM should or should not keep? He just cant shut up.
Nolan said Girgeson is a center then one game later changes him to wing. He says Tropp is a valuable player who just needs to play so he sends him to Rochester where he gets claimed off waivers. He says McBain needs to work his way back into the lineup then sends McNabb down to Roch...recalls McNabb and makes him a healthy scratch tonight yet says he has played great.
None of this makes sense. We need a GM to be making these moves and deciding on the players not Nolan. The team is playing no better for him than they did for Rolston. They are even scoring LESS now than before. John Scott plays every game? Give me a break.
Bring is a GM and let him hire a coach that is in tune with this century, and who knows his place is a teams hierarchy.
