When was the last time that the #2,4 and 5 picks in an NHL draft have looked so out of place a mere three years after being drafted? Sam Reinhardt, Sam Bennett and Michael DelCoille have gone from projected stars to flops in two short years. Reinhardt and Bennett at least looked like NHL top six forwards last year. This year they look way to slow and are out of place in the new faster NHL. Reinhardt has two goals and two assists. Bennett got his first point OF THE YEAR two nights ago with a secondary assist. DelCoille still hasn’t played in the NHL. What do these three also have in common? All are Canadian. Canadian dinosaur GMs took them over guys like Michael Nylander, Nikolas Ehlers, Dylan Larkin and David Pasternak. Why?? Even Leon Drysatl a big fast winger dropped to three. None are Canadian. These GMs still think that being a smart crafty player works in this league. Wrong.
